The genesis is a gesture, and could be said to be inspired by how books are now documented and auctioned away at auction houses. While it is also a gesture, on it’s own process, to let the collector’s desire for an object be Julia Ekström´s desire. Ekström has been asking herself, if she was to be a collector, what collector would she then be, compared to a selection of various possibilities for subjects and objects, to build her own collection. Ekström tries to explore the question about what creates originality and image. These questions about the desire for the original and for the imprint, has led main gesture to ask for what requires us to request a specific object, and what the desire for objects does to us. Her idea and gesture seems to be more challenging for the preparation of collectibles. By treating the object with the love and desire as the emotions shared with a collector, before these objects in her process translates to an art object, an action to try themselves in a discourse about originality and desire for the image is taken to thought. An action to try themselves in a discourse about originality and the desire for the images.
